Job summary

SSA Recruitment is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a major data centre project in Slough. This site-based role works with project and site management to uphold high health and safety standards on the construction site.

You will monitor compliance, conduct inspections and toolbox talks, review RAMS, and assist with risk assessments and incident investigations, collaborating with project teams and subcontractors to promote a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
• Experience in a construction environment.
• Knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation.
• Experience carrying out site inspections, audits and investigations.
• Strong RAMS understanding and construction safety procedures.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Driving licence advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day Health & Safety support across the data centre project.
• Carry out regular site inspections, audits and safety observations.
• Monitor compliance with RAMS and company H&S procedures.
• Assist with the preparation and review of risk assessments and method statements.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, engineers and subcontractors.
• Identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Assist with accident, incident and near-miss investigations.
• Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with site H&S requirements.
• Maintain H&S documentation and records.
• Ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation and client requirements.
• Support the project team in maintaining and improving H&S standards.

About the Role

Our client is currently looking for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a major data centre project in Slough.

This is a site-based position working closely with the project and site management teams to ensure high standards of health and safety are maintained throughout the project.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting site teams, monitoring compliance, carrying out inspections and promoting a strong positive safety culture across the project.

Requirements

• Previous experience within a construction environment.
• Experience working on data centre, M&E, mechanical or building services projects would be highly advantageous.
• Good knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation.
• Experience carrying out site inspections, audits and investigations.
• Strong understanding of RAMS and construction safety procedures.
• Confident communicating with site teams, subcontractors and senior management.
• CSCS/appropriate H&S qualification or card.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.Full UK driving licence advantageous.
