Job summary

Thomson Reuters’ Reuters Imagen team in the UK is seeking a junior DevOps engineer to help deploy, operate and extend our cloud-native media platform. You will gain hands-on experience across AWS/Azure, automation, and partner integrations, learning how to transform partner metadata and deliver video content reliably.

You will contribute to infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines, and bespoke integrations while collaborating with managers and stakeholders to meet client needs.

Qualifications

• Hands-on exposure to cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) with willingness to learn the other.
• Scripting ability in PowerShell and/or Python, and the willingness to become comfortable in both.
• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases (MySQL/MariaDB).
• Version control with Git and understanding of branching and PR reviews.
• Comfortable working with XML, JSON and REST APIs.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with disciplined problem isolation.
• Clear written and verbal communication, including with non-technical stakeholders.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage several work streams.

Responsibilities

• Learn to deploy, configure, troubleshoot and maintain Imagen platform installations across multiple cloud environments.
• Onboard new Reuters content partners: configure ingest pipelines and transform partner metadata using XSLT mappings.
• Integrate customer Imagen systems with Reuters Connect following established procedures.
• Maintain infrastructure as code in Terraform and CI/CD pipelines for serverless ingest functions.
• Build automation around customer platforms including watch folders and event-driven ingests.
• Investigate failed ingestions and platform incidents using logs and metrics; implement fixes.
• Plan and run media migrations and support decommissioning of legacy systems.
• Document work and learnings in internal wiki and repositories.
• Collaborate with content partner managers to understand needs and communicate progress.
