Job summary

The BBC is seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to join the MediaTech DevOps team in London. You will help build, operate and secure software delivery across platforms, spanning software engineering, cloud infrastructure and security tooling.

This role offers hybrid working across London, Salford, Glasgow or Newcastle and emphasizes practical engineering solutions rather than a single platform. You’ll work with experienced engineers to implement CI/CD pipelines, vulnerability management and automation,

Qualifications

• Experience building, maintaining and operating software services, integrations, automation, or engineering tooling.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure (preferably AWS), IaC, automated delivery and CI/CD.
• Understanding secure engineering principles including APIs, authentication, access control and monitoring.
• Ability to investigate issues, understand new systems and deliver practical engineering solutions.
• Clear communication of challenges and solutions within an engineering team, with interest in DevSecOps.

Responsibilities

• Build integrations connecting security, engineering and data to aid team actions.
• Work with AWS infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code to deliver secure cloud services and CI/CD integrations.
• Apply secure engineering practices around IAM, secrets, logging and least-privilege access.
• Investigate issues across services and write automated tests, docs and tooling.
• Deliver engineering changes from implementation through testing and deployment, with senior guidance on larger work.
• Collaborate with teams to understand security/operational problems and implement practical solutions.
• Use AI-assisted engineering tools where they help with coding, testing, investigation, automation or security analysis.
