Job summary

Precision People is seeking a Junior Field Service Engineer to cover CNC machine tools across the UK. The role focuses on installation, service, repair and preventive maintenance, with travel to customer sites and some time at a training facility in Buckinghamshire.

Ideal candidates may come from CNC machining, setting or maintenance backgrounds and should be prepared for UK-wide travel, with training provided to grow into a field service engineer position.

Qualifications

• Experience with CNC machine tools in field service, maintenance or machining.
• Familiar with Mazak, Hurco or Haas CNC machines.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, repair and maintain CNC machine tools.
• Work with 3 & 5-axis machines and 2-5 axis lathes.
• Fault-finding and diagnosing machine issues.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers.
• Complete service reports and daily worksheets.
• Predominantly field-based with training at the High Wycombe facility.

My client is an established CNC machine tool specialist supporting thousands of machines across the UK and Ireland. Due to continued demand, they are looking for an additional Field Service Engineer to join their team.

Importantly, you don't necessarily need previous field service experience. They are now open to experienced CNC machinists/setters/operators with a strong understanding of CNC machinery and experience with basic in-house maintenance. For the right person, training can be provided to develop you into the position.

The Role

• Installation, servicing, repair and maintenance of CNC machine tools.
• Working with 3 & 5-axis machine tools and 2, 3, 4 & 5-axis lathes.
• Fault-finding and diagnosing machine issues.
• Building and maintaining relationships with customers.
• Completing service reports and daily worksheets.
• Predominantly field-based, with some time at the High Wycombe facility for training and machine preparation.
• UK-wide travel with overnight stays when necessary.

Minimum Skills / Experience Required

• Experience working with CNC machine tools – this could be within field service, maintenance, setting, operating or machining.
• Experience with CNC machine tools such as Mazak, Hurco or Haas would also be of interest.
• For candidates coming from the shop floor, some involvement with basic machine maintenance or fault finding would be beneficial.
• Comfortable developing into a customer-facing Field Service position.
• Willing to travel and stay away when required.
• Full UK driving licence.
