Job summary

Accountable is seeking a junior backend engineer to help power our DeFi and lending products. You’ll work close to the protocols and data powering the business, delivering real features from day one while learning rapidly alongside engineers who invest in your growth.

You’ll develop, test, and review backend services, deploy code, and ship MVPs. You’ll integrate with external protocols, monitor activity, and help maintain CI/CD pipelines, gaining ownership over production systems.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java (17+) with strong debugging and code understanding.
• Some Python (3.10+) for scripting and tooling.
• Strong SQL skills, including joins and indexing.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL.
• Understanding HTTP and REST APIs.
• Basic Linux administration and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and review code across backend services with ownership.
• Handle deployments and learn the release process.
• Rapidly build and iterate on new features and MVPs.
• Integrate with external protocols and data sources.
• Monitor protocol activity and flag suspicious behavior.
• Provide day-to-day technical support to clients.
• Improve monitoring tooling and dashboards.
• Support onboarding and integration for new clients.
• Contribute to UI V2 migration and ad-hoc development tasks.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines on GitHub.
