Aave Labs in the United Kingdom is seeking a Staff Backend Engineer to join a small, highly technical team building the infrastructure behind DeFi protocols and vault products.

You will own off-chain systems that interact with on-chain state, design high-throughput data pipelines, robust APIs, and collaborate with Quant and Smart Contract engineers to ensure security and reliability for user funds.

Formación

• 5–8+ years of backend engineering with ownership of production systems.
• Strong Rust experience; other systems languages acceptable.
• Experience building high-performance, data-intensive backends.
• Solid PostgreSQL knowledge and familiarity with data pipelines.
• Experience with blockchain, DeFi, or financial infrastructure.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and operate backend infrastructure for DeFi protocols and vault products.
• Develop vault management, curation, and allocation systems.
• Create high-throughput blockchain indexers and data ingestion pipelines.
• Design APIs for applications and internal systems that are stable and well-documented.
• Collaborate with Quant Engineers to turn models into production services.
• Work with smart contract engineers on systems consuming on-chain state.
• Take technical ownership and uphold high engineering standards.
