Job summary

Aps-Events-and-Media, a diverse events and media production company based near Manchester, is seeking a Junior AV Technician. You will prep and maintain AV gear, manage stock bookings, and assist with on-site delivery of live, virtual, and hybrid events across the UK and overseas.

As you grow in the role, you will work with project teams, liaise with suppliers and clients, and develop hands-on skills in audio-visual setup, lighting and related equipment.

Qualifications

• Experience with audio-visual kit, lighting and related equipment.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook.
• A full clean UK driving licence is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare equipment and test it to ensure readiness before events.
• Manage stock bookings and de‑prepping kit returning from sites.
• Support on-site delivery of events across the UK and overseas.
• Liaise with suppliers and clients during events to coordinate tech needs.

Job description

We are a successful and diverse events and media production company based in the beautiful surroundings of Abney Park in Cheadle, South Manchester. We specialise in the production of events that take us all over the world, and in creating exciting and innovative digital media, primarily within the healthcare industry.

We're looking for a Junior AV Technician to join our technical team and play a part in supporting the delivery of our live, virtual and hybrid events.

Based in our offices, you'll get stuck right in working with the AV tech that makes it all happen. You'll be prepping equipment, managing stock bookings, de-prepping kit coming back from site, and testing and maintaining it so it's all ready for the next one!

As you develop in the role, you'll have opportunities to get out of the office and support event delivery onsite in the UK and overseas.

This really is a varied and hands‑on role, where you'll learn on the job from the ground up with a great team who will support and help you build your experience in the events production world.

You'll be working with our busy project teams to ensure they have all they need to deliver the technical elements of their events, and when you do start going onsite, you'll be liaising with suppliers and clients, so you'll need excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You'll also have some experience of working with audio‑visual kit, lighting and other event related equipment.

As this is the events industry where it's not always a 9 to 5, Monday to Friday job, flexibility is a must.

Knowledge of IT packages including Word, Excel and Outlook is also required. A full clean UK driving licence is a plus!
