Job summary

ALTEN is seeking a Junior Manufacturing Engineer to support an aerospace manufacturing programme on-site at Broughton. You will work closely with production teams and operators, providing day-to-day engineering support and helping resolve technical and manufacturing queries.

A key part of the role is training shop-floor employees in the MES platform and ensuring proper use of digital work instructions. The role focuses on hands-on shop-floor activity, improving processes, and collaborating with

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing, production or shop-floor environment.
• Good understanding of manufacturing and production processes.
• Comfortable providing hands-on support to shop-floor operators.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand and communicate technical information and work instructions.
• Comfortable using digital manufacturing systems and learning new software.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day engineering support on the manufacturing shop floor.
• Respond to and help resolve technical queries from production teams.
• Support manufacturing activities and investigate production issues.
• Provide guidance to operators on engineering and manufacturing processes.
• Support and train shop-floor employees in the effective use of the MES platform.
• Help ensure manufacturing information and digital work instructions are correctly understood and followed.
• Work closely with Manufacturing, Production, Quality and Engineering teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes and ways of working.
• Escalate more complex technical issues to the appropriate engineering teams.
• Support continuous improvement activities across the production environment.
