Job summary

ALTEN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Broughton team supporting aerospace and defence electronics. You will create and maintain work instructions, drive process improvements, and ensure SAP ME compliance while operating in a matrix organisation across multiple functions.

On-site role with BPSS eligibility and 3+ years' experience. You will work with high‑reliability electronics, contribute to design-for-manufacture assessments, and support process validation and ramp‑up

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing engineering within aerospace, defence or high‑reliability electronics.
• Knowledge of surface mount assembly, RF products and electronic manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with SAP ME or similar MES.
• Understanding of full project lifecycle including design, production, risk, and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain detailed work instructions in line with Airbus and Defence processes.
• Manage non-quality issues related to manufacturing processes and support resolution activities.
• Embed and modify manufacturing routings within SAP ME.
• Provide technical support to IRB and NRBs.
• Perform Design for Manufacture (DFM) assessments on new product designs.
• Implement and maintain Health & Safety standards across manufacturing areas.
• Monitor manufacturing performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency.
