Job summary

Hays Accountancy & Finance is partnering with a local SME in Ledbury to recruit a dynamic Trainee Accountant. The role offers a salary of £30,000–£33,000 and a study package for AAT/CIMA/ACCA, with clear progression within a close-knit finance team.

You will support month-end duties, payroll, VAT, ledgers, and budgeting, gaining practical experience in manufacturing accounting while using Sage/Business Central/Dynamics 365 where relevant.

Qualifications

• Some experience in an accounting department and eagerness to progress

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end and year-end processes
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
• Support the preparation of management accounts
• Assist with stock and inventory reconciliations
• Support payroll administration and processing
• Assist with VAT returns and statutory submissions
• Support budgeting/forecasting and produce MS Excel reports
• Assist with purchase and sales ledgers and supplier/customer reconciliations
• Perform daily/weekly bank reconciliations and contribute to cash flow reporting
• Support the Finance Manager with ad-hoc duties and process improvements
