Job summary

Jarvie Plant Ltd is seeking a proactive JP Rentals Assistant Manager at the Grangemouth depot to oversee daily rental operations and help drive profitability. You will work closely with the Rentals Manager to deliver excellent service, manage fleet utilization and support performance across the depot.

The role offers leadership development in a fast-paced rental environment with a focus on customer satisfaction, operations efficiency, and adherence to safety and company policies.

The Role Of JP Rentals Assistant Manager

Based at our Grangemouth depot, the JP Rentals Assistant Manager plays a key role in supporting the effective day-to-day management of the rental operation. Working closely with the Rentals Manager, you will help ensure the smooth, efficient and profitable running of the depot while delivering exceptional service to customers and supporting operational performance.

Main Responsibilities Include

Rental Operations & Fleet Management

• Support the Rentals Manager in the effective day to day running of the depot and rental operation.
• Assist in leading, motivating and developing the team to deliver excellent customer service and achieve operational targets.
• Act as a key point of contact for customers, suppliers and internal departments, resolving enquiries and escalating issues where required.
• Support the management of fleet utilisation, vehicle availability and asset control to maximise operational performance.
• Coordinate asset transfers, fleet movements and the identification of vehicles and equipment for disposal or sale.
• Assist with operated hire administration, contract management and customer documentation.
• Review invoices, supplier charges and payroll information to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
• Monitor vehicle servicing, inspections, maintenance schedules and compliance requirements to maintain fleet standards.
• Support employee training, performance management, absence management and team development activities.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, Health & Safety procedures and relevant legislation.
• Maintain accurate operational records and produce reports as required.
• Support the achievement of depot revenue, profitability and performance objectives.
• Deputise for the Rentals Manager during periods of absence.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience within a rental, fleet, transport, plant hire or operational management environment.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent organisational and administration abilities.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
• Good commercial awareness and an understanding of operational performance.
• Experience supervising or supporting team members.
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office applications.
• The ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
