Job summary

Prospero Teaching in Bradford is recruiting tutors for 1:1 English and Maths tuition in BD4, working with KS2-KS3 level content for a Year 10 pupil.

Roles are part-time, 15 hours per week, pay £20–£30 per hour, start ASAP, ongoing. Sessions can be at the student’s home or other approved locations, with safeguarding in place and a flexible schedule.

Prospero Teaching is currently recruiting for tutors in BRADFORD!

Overview

At Prospero, we work with local authorities to arrange 1:1 tuition for students accessing alternative provision.

What will you be tutoring?

The vast majority of our tuition referrals are for English and Maths. Many students are working below the expected age range, and delivery of learning will be at a KS1-3 level.

Here’s an example role we have available at the moment in Bradford!

Role details

• Location: BD4, within the student’s home.
• Start Date: ASAP.
• End Date: Ongoing.
• Hours: 15 hours per week.
• Pay: GBP 20-30 per hour.
• Role: English and Maths tuition for a Year 10 student working below ARE. Expected delivery of knowledge: KS2-KS3. Experience with SEN students is desired.

When and where will you be tutoring?

Our tuitions can be held in a number of places:

• Within schools
• Within public places
• Within students’ homes

At all of the above locations, there will always be an appropriate adult present for your tuition sessions. This will be the student’s parent, carer, or guardian, meaning you’ll never be left alone with a student.

Our tuitions take place within school hours, 9am-4pm, and our clients are very flexible on timings. When a role becomes available, we will come to you as the tutor to set timings for when you’d like to take on the hours.

What qualifications do you need?

With our tuition roles, you do not need to be a qualified teacher. We usually ask that you have some form of higher education.

We also expect candidates to have some prior experience within education; at least 4 months working in a school or educational setting. This could be as a teacher, teaching assistant, or in a pastoral or support role.

Our registration process ensures that we are following safer recruitment guidelines and safeguarding the students that we work with. Below are the minimum requirement documents you will need to get registered with us:

• Right to Work within the UK.
• An enhanced DBS registered on the update service (recommended but not required, you can apply for a DBS through us).
• References covering 2 years (a full 24 months) of employment, as well as references for any work that you’ve had with children or vulnerable adults within the last two years.
