Job summary

Fawkes & Reece London is seeking a hands-on Working Foreman/Supervisor to join a well-established social housing contractor on retrofit projects in Bradford and West Yorkshire. You will oversee on-site trades, manage programmes, and ensure quality while staying within budget and timescales.

The role reports to a Project Manager and requires SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS and First Aid, with experience in refurbishment and ventilation works in tenanted properties. A van and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering refurbishment schemes in social housing.
• Ventilation works experience preferred.
• Stable progressive career history on CV.

Responsibilities

• Supervise tradesmen and subcontractors to meet quality standards within programme and budget.
• Maintain health & safety culture and ensure site compliance.
• Conduct site inductions, RAMs, and monitor PPE usage.
• Order materials and perform hands-on work as required.

Job description

We are working with a well established and longstanding Social Housing Contractor who have a great company culture and ethos. The company get regular repeat business from their clients, and have a great reputation due to the quality of work they deliver. They specialise in retrofit/energy efficiency upgrades to tenanted social housing properties across the country.

They are seeking a hands‑on Working Foreman/Supervisor to join them on a permanent basis, working on retrofit/energy efficiency upgrades work to tenanted Social Housing properties on two sites in the Bradford and further West Yorkshire areas. Work will include improving ventilation to tenanted properties: door undercuts, trickle vent blocking, drilling core holes etc.

This is a great opportunity with lots of opportunities to progress within the company up to Site Manager level.

You will be reporting into a Project Manager and your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising tradesman and sub-contractors to ensure work is being completed to a high standard of quality, ensuring the programme of works is completed within correct timescales and budget.
• Ensuring health & safety is maintained and creating a positive attitude towards H&S throughout the team.
• Site inductions, RAMs, monitoring PPE to ensure correct usage.
• Ordering materials
• Hands on work on the tools (work listed above)

Experience needed

SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS and First Aid are required tickets, along with a proven track record of successfully delivering Refurbishment schemes within social housing ideally having experience of ventilation works.

The salary on offer is up to £40k plus company van and other benefits (pension, bonus etc.).
