Marchant Recruitment is assisting a supportive secondary school in Taunton, Somerset to recruit a Behaviour Support Assistant. The role focuses on promoting positive behaviour, pupil engagement and a safe learning environment, supporting pupils who may need additional behavioural guidance.

You will work alongside pastoral staff and senior leaders to reinforce routines and policies, help pupils manage situations and contribute to restorative conversations.

Qualifications

• Experience in a school, pastoral or behaviour support setting.
• Experience with secondary-age pupils is desirable.
• Calm, patient and consistent approach.
• Strong communication and confidence managing challenging situations.
• Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience in a school, pastoral or behaviour support setting.

• Experience supporting secondary-age pupils is desirable.

• A calm, patient and consistent approach.

• Strong communication skills and confidence managing challenging situations.

• An understanding of safeguarding, professional boundaries and confidentiality.

An enhanced DBS check will be required in line with the role.
