Job summary

Centrepoint in Manchester is seeking a dedicated Jobs & Education Advisor to deliver in-person employability programmes and manage a caseload of young people, providing tailored guidance and practical support to secure education, training or employment outcomes.

As part of the Jobs & Education Team, you will build partnerships with external agencies, maintain outreach across Manchester, and contribute to achieving positive progression opportunities for vulnerable young people.

Qualifications

• Hold a level 3 or above IAG qualification or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Respectful and empathetic, always considering the impact on our young people.
• Flexible, able to carry out lone working on a regular basis.

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)

Salary:£25,585.20 - £31,239.21 per annum

Centrepoint, the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity, is looking for a Jobs & Education Advisor to join our Jobs & Education Team based in Manchester.

We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness by 2037.

Together with our partners, we support over 15,000 young people each year.

At Centrepoint Works, the Jobs & Education Team (JET) empowers young people to unlock their potential and build brighter futures. Our dedicated Advisors provide personalised careers guidance, practical employability support, and help with everything from choosing the right course to securing employment. Through tailored advice, skills development, and access to specialist opportunities, we support young people to achieve their goals and move confidently towards education, training, and work. While maintaining a strong focus on achieving outcomes for young people, our team also works towards a range of performance targets that measure the impact and effectiveness of our support, ensuring we deliver high-quality services and positive progression opportunities.

What you’ll be doing

• In person delivery of employability programmes and contracts as requested by management.
• Managing a caseload across Manchesterto provide: employment support to young people and/or unemployed clients, safe, quality outreach services by increasing appropriate referrals and supporting the retention of learners on internal programmes.
• Database management, face to face and telephone liaison at all levels.
• Maintaining partnerships with all relevant external agencies and responsibility for outreach across Manchester.
