Ideagen is seeking a Senior Mobile Engineer to shape native mobile experiences across iOS and Android, delivering complex features for the EHS & Quality SaaS platform used by 18,500+ customers worldwide. This hands-on role focuses on building new capabilities, mentoring engineers, and driving quality, performance, and AI-assisted development practices.

The role offers remote work with a Nottingham-area hybrid option (three days in the Ruddington office for candidates within 35 miles) and no visa

Qualifikationen

• Experience in native mobile development for iOS and/or Android.
• Strong knowledge of architecture, modularisation, DI and asynchronous programming.
• Proven delivery of complex mobile features and migrations.
• Understanding of mobile security, CI/CD and modern engineering practices.
• Commitment to clean, maintainable, well-tested code and automated testing.
• Experience mentoring engineers and leading squads.
• Comfort with AI-assisted development and orchestration tools.

You’ll be joining our EHS & Quality platform, one of Ideagen's key growth products. This highly configurable, workflow-driven SaaS solution supports enterprise, government, nuclear, energy, and compliance-focused organisations in managing critical operational, safety, and quality processes.

As a Senior Mobile Engineer, you’ll help shape modern native mobile experiences across iOS, Android, or both. You’ll lead the delivery of complex features, technical modernisation initiatives, and AI-assisted development practices while driving high standards across your squad.

This is a hands-on role focused on building new products and capabilities rather than maintaining legacy applications. You’ll provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, influence key design decisions, and help ensure the quality, scalability, and performance of our mobile platform.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of complex mobile features, technical migrations, and platform improvements across iOS, Android, or both.
• Drive high-quality engineering practices, including architecture, performance, security, accessibility, and maintainable code standards.
• Lead the effective use of AI agents and orchestration workflows for feature delivery, testing, and problem-solving, applying sound judgement on when and how to use AI tools while sharing best practices across the team.
• Build and enhance automated testing, CI/CD, and release processes to ensure reliable and high-performing mobile applications.
• Mentor and support engineers within the squad, providing technical guidance and acting as a key reviewer for designs and specifications.
• Collaborate with engineers across teams to shape mobile standards, share best practices, and influence technical direction.
• Identify opportunities to improve team effectiveness, processes, and platform capabilities, driving solutions from idea to implementation.

Skills and Experience

• Experienced in native mobile development, with expertise in iOS (Swift, SwiftUI/UIKit), Android (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose), or both.
• Deep technical knowledge of modern mobile development practices, including architecture patterns, modularisation, dependency injection, and asynchronous programming.
• Proven experience delivering complex mobile features, technical migrations, and solving performance, scalability, or stability challenges.
• Strong understanding of mobile security, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software engineering best practices.
• A commitment to clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, with experience building and improving automated testing frameworks.
• Experience mentoring engineers, providing technical guidance, and contributing to a culture of engineering excellence.
• Confidence using AI-assisted development tools and agent orchestration workflows to deliver complex features, refactoring initiatives, and testing strategies.
