Ayr Farmers Mutual Insurance Company is seeking a Claims Representative – Property to deliver exceptional service to Policyholders after a loss. This role focuses on handling property claims while gaining exposure to auto, farm, liability, and accident benefit claims, including field visits to loss locations and thorough documentation.

The position emphasizes responsiveness, dependability, and building strong relationships with Policyholders, communities, and team members in a hybrid working

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in a business or insurance-related program is strongly preferred.
• A valid driver's licence and a personal vehicle are required.
• Empathetic with a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.
• Effective organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Collaborative team player with a high level of communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigate property claims and determine coverage, including prompt contact with Policyholders and providing required documentation.
• Conduct field inspections at loss locations, take photographs, and document findings while following safety protocols.
• Take statements and maintain detailed file notes in our electronic claims system.
• Review policies for coverage and work with Policyholders, contractors, appraisers, and independent adjusters to assess the loss and reach fair settlements.
• Monitor outstanding files and review larger claims with the Manager of Claims and Loss Prevention.
• Support on-call coverage and gain exposure to auto, farm, liability, and accident benefit claims.

About The Position

Claims Representative – Property

Our Claims Representatives take pride in providing exceptional support to our Policyholders when they need us most, after a loss. They are experts in handling property, auto, liability, and bodily injury claims efficiently, fairly, and compassionately.

As our successful candidate, you will be dedicated to outstanding customer service, demonstrating responsiveness and dependability. You will have a passion for delivering an exceptional Policyholder experience and value building meaningful relationships with our Policyholders, communities, and team members. You will be responsible for handling property claims, while gaining some exposure to auto, farm, liability, and accident benefit claims. You will also attend loss locations for specific types of losses.

Positions available: 1

Hiring annual salary range: $60,000-$70,000

Skills & Experience

• Post-secondary education in a business or insurance-related program is strongly preferred.
• Claims adjusting experience preferred; however, we are willing to train a candidate with transferable skills.
• A valid driver’s licence and a personal vehicle are required.
• Empathetic with a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.
• Effective organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Collaborative team player with a high level of communication skills. This position requires working closely with many areas of the organization.
• Strong attention to detail and time management.
