Job summary

Orchard Hill College Academy Trust is recruiting for a role supporting learners with SEND, providing job coaching, classroom support, and workplace rotation guidance to help learners secure employment opportunities.

You will work with learners to create personalised employability plans, undertake risk assessments, and engage with employers to secure work placements. Closing date 30th October 2026; interviews 9th November 2026.

• Plan, prepare and deliver employability workshops for learners.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised job-coaching, classroom support, and workplace rotation guidance using Systematic Instruction to help learners develop skills and achieve their vocational goals.
• Collaborate with learners to create tailored vocational profiles, ILPs, targets, and required documentation, including evidence tracking and risk assessments.
• Engage with external employers to identify work rotations, promote benefits of employing people with SEND, and support training, job analysis, and job matching activities.
• Support learners as they transition into employment and coordinate with tutors to prioritise support while upholding safeguarding and health & safety requirements.

Salary: Grade 6/SO1 £30,508.22 - £34,736.63 (FTE £35,628 - £40,566,) per annum inclusive of London Weighting AllowanceLocation: Copthall House and St Helier Hospital Working Pattern: 36 hours per week, Mon – Thurs (8.45am – 4.30pm) Fri (8.45am - .15pm) -Term Time plus 3 weeks

Orchard Hill College is an Outstanding Specialist College (Ofsted, November 2019) offering life-changing learning opportunities to young people and adults with a range of special education needs and/or disabilities. We have ten vibrant community-based College Centres across London and Surrey where committed, specialist teams deliver a range of programmes to meet the needs of over 400 students. Students who study with us have a wide range of needs including profound and multiple learning disabilities, communication and behavioural difficulties and specific medical needs. All students are individuals, and their learning programme is designed to support and empower them to achieve their aspirations and goals, whilst developing skills to become more independent members of their community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personalised job‑coaching, classroom support, and workplace rotation guidance using Systematic Instruction to help learners develop skills and achieve their vocational goals.
• Work collaboratively with each learner to create and regularly review tailored vocational profiles, Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), targets, and required documentation, including evidence tracking and risk assessments.
• Engage proactively with external employers and stakeholders to identify suitable work rotations, promote the benefits of employing people with SEND, and support employers with training, job analysis, and job matching activities.
• Provide continuous support as learners transition into employment, work closely with tutors and the curriculum team to prioritise support, and uphold all safeguarding, equality, and health and safety requirements

Key Requirements:

• Actively support young people who are looking for employment opportunities, providing them with job search skills, support within work rotations, training and support in the classroom and experience in order to facilitate their achievement of identified goals.
• To plan, prepare and deliver workshops for learners to enhance their employability skills
• Continually assess each young person both formally and informally to create an adaptable, personalised employability plan.
• Provide continual support and guidance, ensuring the progression of students entering employment. Understanding of using Job analysis, Job matching and embedding workplace coaching practice
• Demonstrate innovative approaches to employer engagement through marketing and promotion in order to identify and secure potential opportunities for both paid employment and work experience placements
