Job summary

Orchard Hill College is seeking a dedicated Job Coach to support students on Supported Internships in the Sutton region. You will provide personalised coaching, help learners build employability skills, and coordinate with tutors to maintain Individual Learning Plans and risk assessments.

You will engage with employers to create work rotations, promote the benefits of employing people with SEND, and support job matching activities.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalised job-coaching, classroom support, and workplace rotation guidance using Systematic Instruction to help learners develop skills and achieve their vocational goals.
• Work collaboratively with each learner to create and regularly review tailored vocational profiles, ILPs, targets, and required documentation, including evidence tracking and risk assessments.
• Engage proactively with external employers and stakeholders to identify suitable work rotations, promote benefits of employing people with SEND, and support employers with training, job analysis, and job matching activities.
• Provide continuous support as learners transition into employment, work closely with tutors and the curriculum team to prioritise support, and uphold safeguarding, equality and health & safety requirements.

Job Coach - Orchard Hill College – Supported Internships Sutton region

We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Job coach to join our Supported Internship team within the Sutton area. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual passionate about education and making a real difference in the lives of our students.’

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide personalised job‑coaching, classroom support, and workplace rotation guidance using Systematic Instruction to help learners develop skills and achieve their vocational goals.
• Work collaboratively with each learner to create and regularly review tailored vocational profiles, Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), targets, and required documentation, including evidence tracking and risk assessments.
• Engage proactively with external employers and stakeholders to identify suitable work rotations, promote the benefits of employing people with SEND, and support employers with training, job analysis, and job matching activities.
• Provide continuous support as learners transition into employment, work closely with tutors and the curriculum team to prioritise support, and uphold all safeguarding, equality, and health and safety requirements

Key Requirements:

• Actively support young people who are looking for employment opportunities, providing them with job search skills, support within work rotations, training and support in the classroom and experience in order to facilitate their achievement of identified goals.
• To plan, prepare and deliver workshops for learners to enhance their employability skills
• Continually assess each young person both formally and informally to create an adaptable, personalised employability plan.
• Provide continual support and guidance, ensuring the progression of students entering employment. Understanding of using Job analysis, Job matching and embedding workplace coaching practice
• Demonstrate innovative approaches to employer engagement through marketing and promotion in order to identify and secure potential opportunities for both paid employment and work experience placements
