Job summary

Lanes Group is seeking a JetVac Assistant at our Chester Depot to join a two-person team attending drainage issues, blockages, cleansing and reactive calls. You will operate high-pressure water jetting equipment and assist with RAMS and job sheets, while complying with safety standards.

Based at Chester, this 40-hour week role offers onsite work with 21 days of holiday plus bank holidays. A full UK driving licence is required and experience in drainage or plant operations is desirable but not

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery and high-pressure water jetting equipment.
• Follow H&S requirements and complete RAMS under supervision.
• Communicate with customers about scheduled works.
• Assist in identifying drainage issues (blockages, defects, root ingress).
• Assist in emergency response and flooding issues.
• Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance.
• Support CCTV inspections of underground pipes and sewers.
• Complete job sheets and RAMS under supervision.

Purpose of the Role:

We are looking to appoint a JetVac Assistant to join ourChester Depot. Working as part of a two person teams, you will be responsible for attending drainage related issues such as blockages, pipe clearing, cleansing and reactive call outs.

About the Role:

• Location: Chester
• Hours: Monday to Friday – 40 hours per week
• Salary: £13 - £14 per hour dependant on experience
• 21 Days holiday plus Bank Holidays

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate machinery
• Ensure all H&S requirements are followed
• Communicate with customers about scheduled works and address any concerns.
• Assist in identifying drainage issues, including blockages, structural defects, infiltration, and root ingress.
• Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear drains, sewers, and pipework.
• Remove waste materials and prevent build-up in wastewater systems.
• Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance to ensure readiness.
• Support CCTV inspections to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.
• Assist in emergency response situations, including flooding and urgent drainage issues.
• Learn to complete job sheets, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS) under supervision.

Skills & Experience:

• Ability to work as part of a 2-person team.
• Strong health & safety awareness (desirable)
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors.
• Basic IT skills and accurate completion of job sheets and RAMS.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Drainage, construction, utilities, or plant operation experience is desirable but not essential.
• Full UK driving licence (required).
