Job summary

Lanes Group is recruiting a JetVac Assistant for our Chester Depot. You will work in a two-person team tackling drainage issues, blockages, cleansing, and reactive call-outs, ensuring safe and effective operations.

Based in Chester, you will work 40 hours per week (Mon-Fri) with a salary of £13-£14 per hour depending on experience. Benefits include 21 days holiday plus Bank Holidays and ongoing training in RAMS and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Two-person team working in the field.
• Good communication and customer service.
• Physically fit and comfortable outdoors.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Health & Safety awareness (desirable).
• Drainage, construction, utilities, or plant operation experience is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery.
• Ensure all H&S requirements are followed.
• Communicate with customers about scheduled works and address concerns.
• Assist in identifying drainage issues, including blockages, structural defects, infiltration, and root ingress.
• Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear drains, sewers, and pipework.
• Remove waste materials and prevent build-up in wastewater systems.
• Perform routine equipment checks and maintenance to ensure readiness.
• Support CCTV inspections to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.
• Assist in emergency response situations, including flooding and urgent drainage issues.
• Learn to complete job sheets, RAMS under supervision.

Purpose of the Role:

We are looking to appoint a JetVac Assistant to join ourChester Depot. Working as part of a two person teams, you will be responsible for attending drainage related issues such as blockages, pipe clearing, cleansing and reactive call outs.

About the Role:

Key Responsibilities:

• Ability to work as part of a 2-person team.
• Strong health & safety awareness (desirable)
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors.
• Basic IT skills and accurate completion of job sheets and RAMS.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Drainage, construction, utilities, or plant operation experience is desirable but not essential.
• Full UK driving licence (required).
