Job summary

Sanderson Government & Defence is seeking Java Software Developers for London-based, onsite roles requiring active SC clearance. Roles span junior to senior levels, delivering secure, cloud-native solutions for defence and national security projects.

You will design, develop and maintain Java applications, build AWS-based deployments, and contribute to containerised architectures within Agile teams. Eligible for eDV, four days onsite in London, with competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience developing Java applications.
• Experience with AWS cloud technologies.
• Strong Docker/containerisation knowledge.
• Experience in Agile delivery environments.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Active SC Clearance and eligibility for eDV.
• Desirable: Spring Boot, Kubernetes, microservices architecture, CI/CD and DevOps in defence/secure environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java-based applications.
• Build and deploy solutions in AWS environments.
• Develop containerised apps using Docker.
• Collaborate with cross-functional Agile teams.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
• Contribute to secure and scalable software architectures.
