Job summary

Experian is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Decisioning Software team in Nottingham on a hybrid basis, with 40% in the office. You will develop and enhance our proprietary decisioning software, delivering scalable solutions and real business value.

Work closely with Product Owners, Engineers and Architects to design and implement features, participate in code reviews, and help drive improvements across engineering practices and tooling.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Java development.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design and best practices.
• Experience with Git and source control.
• Experience in Agile software development teams.
• Familiar with automated testing and quality engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software primarily using Java.
• Build new features and enhance existing capabilities within Experian's decisioning platforms.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Engineers, Architects and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Contribute to the full software development lifecycle from design to deployment and support.
• Write clean, maintainable and well-tested code.
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
• Investigate and resolve production issues when required.
• Support continuous improvement across engineering practices, tooling and processes.
