Job summary

Capgemini in the UK is seeking an experienced software engineer to join the C&CA practice, helping build scalable, high-quality digital solutions that deliver meaningful client outcomes. You will work in multidisciplinary teams to design, develop, and enhance modern applications across the full stack.

You'll contribute to secure, resilient solutions, drive engineering excellence, and promote innovation and responsible AI usage.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in full stack development across front-end and back-end technologies.
  • Experience with Java, Spring Boot, RESTful services, and API-driven architectures.
  • Experience building cloud-native solutions in AWS environments.
  • Knowledge of observability, monitoring, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance end-to-end application solutions delivering measurable business value.
  • Collaborate with product, design, architecture, and engineering teams to translate business needs into high-quality solutions.
  • Design and deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable applications aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Support the full software development lifecycle, ensuring solutions are delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Drive engineering best practices, code quality, automation, and continuous improvement across delivery teams.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and implement sustainable solutions that improve reliability and performance.
  • Contribute to technical discussions, solution design activities, and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, continuous learning, responsible use of AI, and development of a future-ready workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

Must-Have Skills
  • Strong experience in full stack application development across front-end and back-end technologies.
  • Strong development experience using Java, Spring Boot, RESTful services, and API-driven architectures.
  • Experience building and supporting cloud-native solutions within AWS environments.
  • Knowledge of application observability, monitoring, performance optimisation, and troubleshooting practices.
  • Experience with authentication, identity, and access management concepts.
  • Understanding of CI/CD principles, source control, and modern software engineering practices.
  • Experience integrating applications with third-party enterprise platforms and services.
  • Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Commitment to quality engineering, continuous improvement, and agile delivery methodologies.
