Job summary

X4 Technology is seeking an experienced Software Implementation Engineer to join a high-performing engineering team focused on payments and financial services. You will contribute across the full software lifecycle, from design and architecture to hands-on development, testing and continuous improvement.

You will work closely with other engineers in an Agile environment to build high-quality, reusable software that operates at scale in a highly transactional environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain high-quality Java applications.
• Contribute to architecture and technical design decisions.
• Build scalable, resilient and highly available distributed systems.
• Work with asynchronous and event-driven architectures.
• Develop reusable code, components and libraries.
• Optimise applications for performance, scalability and reliability.
• Follow TDD/BDD and established engineering standards.
• Contribute to technical discussions and problem solving across the engineering team.
• Work within a collaborative Agile/Kanban environment.
• Contribute to CI/CD and automated delivery processes.
• Take ownership of complex engineering challenges and continually look for ways to improve the product and development process.
