Job summary

Opus Recruitment Solutions Limited is seeking a Java Engineer to join a leading technology consultancy delivering large-scale digital transformation programmes for high-profile clients in Newcastle.

You will work on modern cloud-native applications, microservices and enterprise integrations using Java technologies (JDK 11+, Spring Boot) within Agile teams, with a 12-month FTC and a hybrid setup (3 days onsite).

Qualifications

• Commercial Java development experience.
• Java (JDK 11+) experience.
• Experience with Spring Boot and REST APIs.

Responsibilities

• Develop Java-based enterprise applications and microservices.
• Build secure, scalable solutions using Java (JDK 11+) and Spring Boot.
• Work on AWS-hosted cloud solutions.
• Develop and consume REST APIs.
• Contribute to modern Microservices architectures.
• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, testing and architecture teams.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives).
• Follow engineering best practices including CI/CD, TDD and automated testing.

We're looking for a talented Java Engineer to join a leading technology consultancy delivering large-scale digital transformation programmes for high-profile clients.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on modern cloud-native applications, enterprise integrations and microservices architectures using the latest Java technologies within collaborative Agile engineering teams.

The position is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract, with a strong intention to move successful candidates into a permanent position following the initial term.

What You'll Be Doing

• Developing Java-based enterprise applications and microservices.
• Building secure, scalable solutions using Java (JDK 11+) and Spring Boot.
• Working on AWS-hosted cloud solutions.
• Developing and consuming REST APIs.

Security Clearance Requirement

Applicants must be eligible for UK SC Clearance.
