Java Developer / Backend Software Engineer (Java Spring API Security) Cambridge / WFH to £55k

Are you a backend-focused Java technologist seeking an opportunity to advance your career while working on complex, interesting systems with ongoing learning opportunities?

You could join a market-leading software company whose remote access product is used by hundreds of millions worldwide.

As a Java Developer, you will design and develop new features and enhancements for the core remote access product, as well as maintain existing systems. You will work with a modern microservices, Java-based tech stack. Challenges around scalability and robustness will provide continual learning and career progression within a supportive Agile team environment.

Location / WFH:

Enjoy a friendly, supportive team environment with the flexibility to work from home most of the time, meeting colleagues in the Cambridge office once a month.

About You:

• Experience in Java development within a microservices environment
• Experience with API design and development
• Comfortable collaborating in an Agile environment with TDD, code reviews, and Pair Programming
• Strong knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals such as OOP, Design Patterns, Data Structures
• Good understanding of networking technologies, protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, multicast), and security principles
• Appreciation of security, ideally with experience in an ISO 27001 environment
• Optional experience with Python, Golang, Ansible, and Event-Driven architecture (training available)
• Relevant degree, e.g., in Computer Science
