Job summary

Citi is hiring for a Java developer role within its technology wing. The role focuses on building and maintaining scalable trading platform solutions, with emphasis on REST APIs, messaging systems, and distributed architectures.

The team operates in a hybrid model with exposure to global teams and modern SDLC practices. You will participate in design sessions, contribute to continuous improvement, and ensure performance and security considerations are integrated into daily development work.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience as a Java developer.
• Experience with REST APIs and authentication mechanisms (OAuth/Basic).
• Experience with messaging systems (Kafka, NATS, Solace, RabbitMQ).
• Experience with SQL databases and distributed systems.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Platform Support & Enhancement: Build and maintain common solutions for trading platform monitoring, trade reconciliation, application recovery, and other essential support functions.
• Core Development: Participate in design sessions with the development team, both employees and vendors located across multiple locations.
• Agile SDLC: Evaluate and adopt new development tools, libraries, and approaches to improve delivery quality.
• Continuous Improvement: Analyze existing software systems and propose solutions to improve overall design, architecture, and efficiency.
• Cross functional Collaboration: Communicate with stakeholders to shape requirements and design decisions.
• Liaising with production support teams in troubleshooting and debugging applications.
• Ensure best practices and standards are followed as part of the development lifecycle.
• Provide user/documentation and ensure applications meet performance and scalability requirements.
• Comfortable using AI-based coding assistants and AI-powered SDLC processes.
