Job summary

ABM Industries in Glasgow is seeking a proactive Janitor to maintain a clean and safe shopping environment. This is a permanent contract with a 3 days over 7 shift pattern totaling 24 hours per week.

You will manage waste, operate on-site equipment, drive company vehicles including towing a trailer, and support cleaners in back of house and car park areas. Driving licence required and the role emphasizes teamwork and customer care.

Responsibilities

• Waste management and recycling targets

• Clean back of house areas including corridors and lifts
• Maintain service yards and car park cleanliness
• Assist retailers with disposal needs and support during emergencies as Fire Warden
• Collaborate with on-site and ad hoc contractors professionally

Job Objective & Responsibilities:

We are looking to appoint a proactive Janitor to maintain a clean and safe shopping environment for all our customers and staff. This is a permanent contract.

Duties:

• Waste management in line with on-site process and achieve recycling targets
• Use of on-site equipment including cardboard baler, waste compactor, pallet lifter and ride on sweeper
• Driving and operating company vehicles including towing a trailer
• Maintain the cleanliness within the back of house areas including corridors and lifts
• Maintain the cleanliness within the service yards and car park
• Assist client and retailers with the removal of items requiring disposal
• Take an active role in emergency situations including Fire Warden tasks
• Work with on site and ad hoc contractors, maintaining a professional and courteous manner
