Job summary

ABM UK in Glasgow is seeking a proactive Janitor to maintain a clean and safe shopping environment. This permanent contract role involves waste management, operating on-site equipment, driving company vehicles and assisting with disposal tasks.

The successful candidate will work as part of a team, demonstrate excellent time management, be well presented, and hold a valid driving licence. A willingness to support emergency duties and collaborate with contractors is essential.

Responsibilities

• Waste management in line with on-site process and recycling targets.
• Use of on-site equipment including baler, compactor, lifter and sweeper.
• Drive and operate company vehicles including towing a trailer.
• Maintain cleanliness in back of house areas, corridors and lifts.
• Keep service yards and car park clean and tidy.
• Assist clients and retailers with disposal of items.
• Participate in emergency duties including Fire Warden tasks.
• Collaborate with on-site contractors in a professional manner.

LOCATION: Glasgow, G31 4EB

SHIFT PATTERN: 3 days over 7, 24 hours per week

PAY RATE: Competitive

Job Objective & Responsibilities

We are looking to appoint a proactive Janitor to maintain a clean and safe shopping environment for all our customers and staff. This is a permanent contract.

Duties

• Waste management in line with on-site process and achieve recycling targets
• Use of on-site equipment including cardboard baler, waste compactor, pallet lifter and ride on sweeper
• Driving and operating company vehicles including towing a trailer
• Maintain the cleanliness within the back of house areas including corridors and lifts
• Maintain the cleanliness within the service yards and car park
• Assist client and retailers with the removal of items requiring disposal
• Take an active role in emergency situations including Fire Warden tasks
• Work with on site and ad hoc contractors, maintaining a professional and courteous manner
