Job summary

Xavier Catholic Education Trust in Chertsey is seeking an IT Technician to join the XCET IT team. You will troubleshoot hardware and software, support staff and students, and help keep IT services reliable and secure.

The role includes proactive maintenance, monitoring network performance, safeguarding duties, and visiting multiple XCET schools to provide on-site assistance and contribute to trust-wide IT projects.

Qualifications

• Ideally 2 years’ IT support experience, but open to newly qualified applicants.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality technical support.
• Excellent customer-facing skills and proactive, solution-focused approach.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational skills and high level of initiative.
• DBS checks and safeguarding procedures are required.
• Must hold a valid UK driving licence and own a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues and support staff and students.
• Ensure IT services run reliably and securely.
• Perform proactive maintenance and monitor network performance.
• Adhere to data protection and safeguarding standards.
• Support and visit multiple XCET schools, providing on-site assistance.
• Contribute to trust-wide IT projects.
