Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking an IT Technician / IT Support Technician for a site-based role in the local area. You will provide 1st/2nd line IT support for staff and pupils, troubleshooting hardware and software, and help maintain ICT resources in a busy school environment.

You will work 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, across 52 weeks including two fixed weeks during results week. The role offers training and clear career progression in a supportive team.

IT Technician / IT Support Technician

Site based, commutable from Ilford, Woodford, Chadwell Heath, Fairlop, Wanstead and surrounding areas.

Are you an IT Technician or IT Support Technician looking for a stable, site-based role with set hours, where you'll be supported by senior staff and given the chance to build your skills in a busy school environment?

This is a permanent position with a well-established secondary school, supporting staff and pupils with day-to-day IT, while helping to keep ICT resources and learning facilities running smoothly and safely.

In the role you'll provide 1st / 2nd line support, troubleshoot and carry out basic repairs where possible, install hardware, manage software on workstations, and help keep on top of security updates and licensing. You'll also maintain equipment inventories, ensuring devices are security tagged/marked after purchase.

You will work Monday to Friday on fixed daytime hours (36 hours per week), across 52 weeks per year, including two fixed working weeks during results week.

This role would suit someone with IT support experience who wants stability, a structured environment, and the chance to be trained and supported while doing a genuinely varied hands‑on support role.

The Role

• Provide 1st and 2nd line support to staff and pupils on site
• Troubleshoot and repair ICT / audio‑visual equipment where possible
• Install hardware and manage software on workstations
• Support security updates, communicate critical updates, and manage licences
• Maintain inventories and ensure equipment is security tagged/marked

The Person

• IT support experience (hardware/software, installation and troubleshooting)
• Basic networking knowledge (supporting an organisation‑wide environment)
• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent qualification/experience) in a relevant IT discipline
