Your new company
This multi-academy trust has grown over the last 12 months and with further growth plans, it is important they have the right staff in place to continue the growth of the trust. With a secondary school joining the trust in September this year, they are now looking for an IT Technician to be based at this school on a full-time basis. The school is based in Lancashire, between Blackpool and Preston and has a good reputation locally. Your new role
Reporting to the Head of IT, you will be responsible for providing a high level of IT support to staff and pupils across the school, working closely with the wider trust IT team. On a daily basis, this will involve responding to IT requests which may relate to hardware, software or bespoke educational technologies and ensuring that a resolution is achieved in a timely manner. You will be required to complete software installations and upgrades, hardware builds and installations, supporting with AV equipment and interactive whiteboards and with network issues. You will work closely with the trust IT team around the delivery of IT projects related to updating networks and technologies, introducing new technologies and systems and overall making a positive impact on the use of IT in the classroom.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in securing this position, you must possess first line IT support experience, ideally having worked in an environment where you have been face to face with end users. You will have experience supporting both hardware and software issues, with experience working in the education sector being advantageous. Strong communication and customer service skills are also essential.
