Job summary

Gill Cooke Personnel Ltd T/A The Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced IT Technician to join a busy warehouse and office team in the UK. You will provide 1st/2nd line IT support, maintain PCs and devices, and support warehouse technology such as scanners and label printers.

The role requires Windows and Microsoft 365 knowledge, data system awareness, and the ability to work across warehouse and office settings. Salary is £34,000 per year.

Qualifications

• 1 year of IT Technician/IT Support experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of Windows and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Experience supporting hardware, software and networks.
• Excellent communication and ability to support non-technical users.
• Understanding of data systems, synchronisation and infrastructure monitoring.
• Flexible across warehouse and office environments.
• WMS experience is advantageous.
• RF/handheld scanners experience is advantageous.
• AD/Microsoft Entra ID and networking (Wi‑Fi/switches) advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor the warehouse management system, ensuring data accuracy.
• Provide first and second-line IT support to warehouse and office users.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network and connectivity issues.
• Set up, configure and maintain PCs, laptops, monitors, printers and other IT equipment.
• Support warehouse technology including handheld scanners, barcode equipment, label printers and tablets.
• Troubleshoot Wi‑Fi and network connectivity across the warehouse.
• Manage user accounts, passwords, permissions and access.
• Install and maintain software, applications and system updates.
• Assist with onboarding and IT setup of new employees.
• Maintain accurate IT asset and equipment records.
• Liaise with external IT providers and suppliers where required.
• Carry out routine maintenance and proactively identify potential issues.
• Provide technical assistance during system outages and operational issues.
• Ensure all IT support aligns with security and data protection procedures.

Requirements

• Previous experience of 1 year in an IT Technician or IT Support role, preferably within a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of Windows and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Experience supporting hardware, software and networks.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to support non-technical users.
• Practical understanding of data systems, synchronisation and infrastructure monitoring.
• A flexible approach and willingness to work across both warehouse and office environments.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) would be advantageous.
• Experience with RF/handheld scanners would be advantageous.
• Experience with barcode and label printing technology would be advantageous.
• Experience with Active Directory / Microsoft Entra ID would be advantageous.
• Experience with networking, Wi-Fi and switches would be advantageous.
