Nextech Group is recruiting an IT Support Technician to join the internal IT team at a well-established independent school in Amersham on a 3-month contract. You will provide day-to-day IT support across devices, software, and networks while collaborating with the IT Manager and staff.

This hands-on role covers hardware, servers, networking, and project work in a busy educational environment, with a strong emphasis on user satisfaction and proactive problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within an IT Support, IT Technician, IT Engineer or similar technical role.
• Good knowledge of Windows desktops and laptops.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and Active Directory.
• Good general networking knowledge.
• Strong hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
• Any exposure to servers, virtualisation or cloud technologies would be beneficial.
• Confident communicating with users with different levels of technical knowledge.
• A proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving.
• Comfortable working independently as well as part of a small IT team.
• Someone who enjoys variety and is happy getting involved across different areas of IT.

Responsabilités

• Providing day-to-day IT support to staff and pupils.
• Troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues.
• Supporting Windows laptops and desktops, Chromebooks and iPads.
• Managing users, accounts and devices across Microsoft 365, Active Directory and Intune.
• Supporting Windows Server and Hyper-V environments.
• Assisting with Cisco Meraki networking and Wi-Fi.
• Setting up, configuring and maintaining laptops, desktops and other IT equipment.
• Supporting classroom technology, interactive displays and AV equipment.
• Carrying out hardware repairs, upgrades and general maintenance.
• Managing helpdesk tickets and responding to user requests.
• Supporting printers and other technology across the site.
• Assisting with new device deployments and technology rollouts.
• Getting involved with IT upgrades, infrastructure improvements and wider projects.
• Working alongside the IT team to ensure systems and technology run smoothly across the school.

Salary: £200-£250 per day (Inside IR35)
Contract: Initial 3 Month Contract
Working Pattern: Fully onsite
Sector: Independent Education - Enhanced DBS required / on the update service

The Role

We are recruiting for an IT Support Technician to join the internal IT team of a well-established independent school in Amersham.

This is a varied, hands-on position covering day-to-day IT support, hardware, systems, networking and project work.

Working closely with the IT Manager and wider IT team, you'll support staff and pupils across a busy IT environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being an IT all-rounder and wants exposure to different areas of technology rather than being limited to one particular area.
