Job summary

Element is seeking an IT Support Trainee to provide hands-on support for colleagues at our Chiswick office. You’ll look after devices, help with everyday IT needs, and ensure smooth IT operations in a government-ready environment.

This part-time six-month fixed-term contract (24 hours/week) offers exposure to IT security, privacy and compliance, with opportunities to explore AI tools and Jira Service Management as the team moves to global IT processes.

Qualifications

• A degree or studies in IT, computer science or a related subject, or similar hands on experience.
• Basic knowledge of laptops, mobile devices and common software, and how to solve everyday IT problems.
• Interest in IT security, privacy and compliance.
• Good communication skills and friendly approach.
• Attention to detail and handling confidential information.
• Curiosity and eagerness to learn, Agile mindset.

Responsibilities

• End user support: respond to day-to-day IT requests and assist onboarding/offboarding.
• On-site support at the Chiswick office, including network and Wi‑Fi issues.
• Device lifecycle: prepare, swap and collect laptops, mobiles and accessories.
• Assist hardware refresh projects and supplier quotes as needed.
• Maintain device records in the asset system and ensure secure data erasure.
• Support patching, updates and security policy enforcement.
