Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service is offering an IT Support Technician Apprentice role within the ICT Shared Service team. Gain hands-on experience while working towards a Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification with LearnTech (Technical Professionals Limited).

The role covers incident handling, user support, hardware installation and IT administration, with travel across Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire as required. Salary £18,000 per annum; full-time contract.

Qualifications

• Level 3 ICT Technician standard with LearnTech (Technical Professionals Limited).
• Customer service and stakeholder management experience is valued.

Responsibilities

• Act as the first point of contact for ICT incidents and service requests.
• Provide excellent customer service and support to users across fire and rescue services.
• Log, manage and prioritise support requests in line with SLAs.
• Escalate incidents to specialist ICT teams and external providers.
• Assist with installation, configuration and deployment of IT equipment (laptops, mobiles, tablets, alerters).
• Maintain accurate records of software, hardware and ICT assets.
• Support ITIL and ISO 27001 compliance.
• Assist with routine ICT administration and documentation.
• Learn to diagnose and resolve issues remotely and face-to-face.
• Travel to fire service sites across Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire.
