ABOUT BOSWORTH INDEPENDENT SCHOOL

Bosworth Independent School is a relatively small school of approximately 300 students. OVERVIEW OF JOB

To provide a high-quality, customer-focused IT support service to staff and students at Bosworth Independent School, ensuring the effective operation of the School's technology infrastructure and digital learning environment. The postholder will provide first and second-line technical support, maintain IT equipment and systems, and contribute to projects that enhance teaching, learning and administrative efficiency. This is a customer-facing role requiring excellent communication skills, technical competence and a commitment to safeguarding and data security.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Support
  • Provide first-line and second-line support for hardware, software and network-related issues.
  • Respond to support requests in accordance with agreed service levels.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical faults or escalate complex issues where necessary.
  • Support users with Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint.
  • Assist staff and students with access to school systems, user accounts and passwords.
  • Maintain accurate records of support requests and resolutions.
Classroom and Educational Technology
  • Support classroom technology including interactive displays, projectors, printers and audio-visual equipment.
  • Assist teaching staff in the effective use of educational technology.
  • Ensure teaching spaces remain fully operational and equipped for learning.
  • Support online learning platforms and digital assessment systems as required.
Infrastructure and Systems
  • Assist in maintaining the school's network infrastructure, servers, wireless networks and internet connectivity.
  • Support routine system maintenance, updates and security patching.
  • Help monitor system performance and identify issues before they affect users.
  • Assist with backup, recovery and disaster recovery procedures.
Device Management
  • Prepare, deploy and maintain staff and student laptops, desktops, tablets and mobile devices.
  • Manage inventory and asset registers.
  • Organise repairs, replacements and warranty claims.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes for staff and students.
Cyber Security and Data Protection
  • Follow all school policies relating to data protection, cyber security and acceptable use.
  • Support implementation of cyber security controls and awareness initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information at all times.
  • Report any suspected security incidents promptly.
Projects and Continuous Improvement
  • Assist with IT projects including software deployments, hardware refresh programmes and infrastructure improvements.
  • Contribute ideas to improve service delivery and user experience.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, guides and procedures.
  • Participate in training and continuous professional development activities.
Safeguarding
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people.
  • Comply with all safeguarding, child protection and KCSIE requirements.
  • Report safeguarding concerns in line with school procedures.
  • Ensure the safe use of technology by students and staff.

Person Specification Essential
