Job summary

EIS, part of Commercial Services Group, is seeking a Schools IT Technician to deliver high-quality IT support to schools and academies in Kent. This hybrid role combines on-site and remote work, and requires a full UK driving licence and an enhanced DBS check.

You will maintain school IT infrastructure, resolve incidents, support classroom technology, and work closely with teachers and school leaders to understand needs. Permanent, 37 hours per week, salary £25,948.96–£28,500 per year.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in troubleshooting networking, Windows Server and user device issues.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and resilience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build constructive relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills including clear written and verbal communication.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience supporting classroom technology and school-specific systems such as SIMS or Arbor.
  • Understanding of ITIL principles and service delivery standards.

Responsibilities

  • Managing school IT infrastructure to ensure systems remain secure and effective.
  • Supporting the resolution of incidents, including complex networking, Windows Server and device issues.
  • Working closely with school staff and leaders to understand needs and provide professional IT advice.
  • Preparing technical information and documentation to support incident resolution and decision making.
  • Supporting classroom technology including touch panels, smartboards, projectors and visualisers.
  • Working with third-party providers on behalf of customers to ensure services meet requirements.
  • Highlighting IT risks and recommending appropriate mitigation steps.
  • Providing remote support when not on site, ensuring timely updates and accurate records.

Location: Hybrid/Kings Hill, Kent
Salary/package: £25,948.96 to £28,500 per annum
Contract type: Permanent
Hours: Full time, 37 hours per week

Due to the nature of the work being carried out, the successful candidate will need to have a Full (Clean) UK Driving Licence and be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check which will be carried out by the company.

This role would suit an experienced IT Technician or Helpdesk Engineer who enjoys variety, problem solving and building strong customer relationships across multiple school settings.
