Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC) is building the future of quantum computing in Reading. We seek an IT Support Engineer to maintain a reliable, secure technology estate, providing hands-on 1st/2nd line support and contributing to more complex 3rd line issues.

Reporting to the Head of IT, you will manage Windows, macOS, Linux, cloud platforms and end-user hardware, while improving processes, security and service improvements in a growing quantum company.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering 1st and 2nd line IT support in an SLA-driven environment.
• Strong troubleshooting across Windows, macOS and Linux desktops/servers.
• Hands-on with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 and cloud platforms (Azure/Entra).
• Experience using ticketing, documentation and knowledge bases.

Responsibilities

• Own 1st and 2nd line IT support requests from diagnosis to resolution.
• Troubleshoot and maintain Windows, macOS and Linux environments, cloud services and end-user hardware.
• Monitor systems, assist with incident, backup and resilience processes.
• Contribute to IT documentation and onboarding/offboarding processes.
• Support cross-team projects, audits and security initiatives.
