IT Support Engineer - Quantum Computing

Job summary

OQC is seeking an IT Support Engineer to maintain a reliable, secure IT estate across Windows, macOS and Linux, with cloud platforms and end‑user devices. Reporting to the Head of IT, you will handle 1st/2nd line issues, contribute to security, compliance and continuous improvement, and collaborate on cross‑functional projects.

You will help onboard/offboard users, document processes and strengthen our IT knowledge base while keeping SLAs and best practices at the core of daily operations.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering 1st and 2nd line IT support in an SLA-driven environment.
• Strong troubleshooting across hardware and software including Windows, macOS and Linux.
• Hands-on with modern workplace and cloud tech (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra).
• Experience using ticketing, task tracking, documentation and support-desk tools.
• Practical experience in IT asset management, endpoint management, software/licence management, backup and DR.
• Understanding of incident & problem management, networking and cybersecurity basics aligned to ISO 27001 and GDPR.

Responsibilities

• Own 1st and 2nd line requests from diagnosis to resolution per SLAs.
• Troubleshoot Windows, macOS and Linux desktop/server environments plus cloud services.
• Monitor IT systems and support incident, problem, backup and recovery processes.
• Onboard/offboard users and maintain accurate hardware/software records.
• Develop and maintain IT knowledge base and support junior colleagues.
