Purpose Statement: The Systems Administrator will use and demonstrate the Plexus core values to provide service excellence for our internal customers as well as management of site computing equipment. This role will provide technical and customer support to the site user community ensuring that applications, systems, network and technologies are available to support and advance business needs. The Systems Administrator will collaborate with other IT personnel, vendors and business partners in order to deliver and maintain secure, reliable and sustainable technology solutions. The Systems Administrator will also follow all policies and governance that promote and support Plexus philosophy and business objectives.

Key Job Accountabilities:

  • Installs or removes system components using supplied installation instructions and tools.
    Installs or removes hardware and/or software, using supplied installation instructions and tools, including handover to the client.
    Assists users and follows agreed procedures for further help or escalation.
  • Follows agreed procedures to identify and resolve issues with applications. Uses application management software and tools to collect agreed performance statistics. Carries out agreed applications maintenance tasks.
  • Carries out agreed operational procedures, including backup/restore, using supplied infrastructure tools and scripts.
    Carries out agreed system software maintenance tasks. Automates routine system administration tasks to specifications using standard tools and basic scripting.
    Resolves security events and operational security issues.
  • Assesses, analyses, develops, documents and implements changes based on requests for change. Identifies problems and issues and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develops and adapts innovation tools, processes and infrastructures to drive the process of innovation. Identifies resources and capabilities needed to support innovation.
  • All GT team members are responsible for upholding the organization's cybersecurity posture by adhering to security policies and procedures, actively participating in training, protecting data and systems, actively identifying and mitigating vulnerabilities, and promptly reporting any suspicious activity or potential security incidents.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

  • Bachelors preferred
  • Four (4) years of related experience is preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered.

Other Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of at least one of the following: Windows operating systems, UNIX or UNIX derivative operating systems or storage
  • Understanding of network topology, wireless systems or firewalls
  • General understanding or ability to learn scripting and automation tools to improve efficiencies or effectiveness of the Systems Engineer role
  • Computer literacy in Google Workspace or Windows environment including but not limited to word processing, spreadsheets, flowcharting and other software development, documentation, or project management tools needed to perform assignment.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all departments, company and customer information while working safely at all times.
  • The ability to support around the clock monitoring and management and may result in support or activities after normal business hours.
  • Develops, maintains and tests incident management procedures in agreement with service owners.
  • Investigates escalated, non-routine and high-impact incidents to responsible service owners and seeks resolution.
  • Facilitates recovery, following resolution of incidents. Ensures that resolved incidents are properly documented and closed.
  • Analyses causes of incidents, and informs service owners to minimize probability of recurrence, and contributes to service improvement. Analyses metrics and reports on the performance of the incident management process.
