Job summary

ORCA Service Technologies, a fast-growing software development startup in Maidenhead, invites applications for an IT Support Apprentice. You will be involved in IT support, ticket management, and assisting developers on projects while learning quickly on the job.

You’ll join a dynamic team with growth opportunities, working on diverse tasks in a high-paced SME environment. Training, mentorship and progression through OST Leadership Academy are provided.

Qualifications

  • Basic IT knowledge and eagerness to learn on the job.
  • Good communication skills across multiple methods.
  • Ability to learn quickly in a high-paced environment.
  • Able to work in a team as well as independently.
  • Preferred: IT hardware skills and prior IT education/experience.

Responsibilities

  • Handle IT support activities: categorising, prioritising and solving tickets.
  • Support senior/junior developers on projects and development activities.
  • Work with customers to scope incoming project requests.
  • Understand OST’s systems to develop and support customers.
  • Take customer contact and project ownership around your development work.

We are ORCA Service Technologies, and we create killer software applications. ORCA Service Technologies is a small software development firm located in Maidenhead, UK. Our mission is to deliver simple to use, high quality, affordable IT solutions for Facility Service organisations.

Our team started by developing bespoke software a Facility Service organisation focussed on commercial kitchen maintenance. We created custom android and windows apps for them. We now deliver cloud-based software internationally for a growing customer base.

We are looking for an apprentice to join our software support team: someone who knows their way around a computer and is not afraid to work hard to learn quickly on the job.

As an IT apprentice at ORCA Service Technologies (OST), you will be challenged with a diverse set of responsibilities including IT support and understanding user’s issues.

  • Responsible for IT support activities (categorising, prioritising, and solving tickets)
  • Support senior and junior developers on ground-breaking projects and cutting-edge development activities
  • Working closely with customers to scope incoming project requests
  • Understand OST’s organisational systems to develop and support customers
  • Responsible for customer contact and project ownership around your development works

You will be joining a dynamic team with ranging sets of experience levels: from junior interns to seasoned professionals with more than 20 years’ experience.
