Job summary

QA Limited is seeking an IT Apprentice to join the IT team. You will gain hands-on experience supporting users, systems, and technology services in a professional environment.

You will work with IT professionals across service desk support, Microsoft 365 administration, information security, infrastructure, and end-user device management. Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours.

Qualifications

  • 3 GCSEs (A-C) in any subject.
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) at grade 3+.
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level in a similar subject.

Responsibilities

  • Act as first point of contact for IT support requests and incidents.
  • Provide technical support to users via phone, email, remote tools, and in person.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and account-related issues.
  • Assist with onboarding/offboarding: account creation, access management, and device setup.
  • Administer Microsoft 365 services (Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Entra ID).
  • Maintain end-user devices, software deployments, and mobile device management.
  • Setup, maintain, and troubleshoot audio/video conferencing equipment.
  • Maintain IT desk setups for office staff.
  • Create and update technical documentation and knowledge base articles.
  • Follow IT policies and security best practices at all times.
  • Perform other IT tasks as required by the IT Department.

About your role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic IT Apprentice to join our IT team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in IT while gaining hands‑on experience supporting users, systems, and technology services within a professional business environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with experienced IT professionals, developing technical skills across service desk support, Microsoft 365 administration, information security, infrastructure support, and end‑user device management.

Main responsibilities
  • Acting as a first point of contact for IT support requests, incidents, and service inquiries.
  • Providing technical support to users via phone, email, remote support tools, and in person.
  • Assisting with the diagnosis and resolution of hardware, software, and account‑related issues.
  • Supporting user onboarding and offboarding activities, including account creation, access management, and equipment setup.
  • Assisting with the administration of Microsoft 365 services, including Teams, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and Entra ID.
  • Helping maintain end‑user devices, software deployments, and mobile device management systems.
  • Supporting the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of audio and video conferencing equipment.
  • Helping maintain the IT desk setups for office‑based staff.
  • Creating and updating technical documentation, user guides, and knowledge base articles.
  • Following IT policies, procedures, and security best practices at all times.

And any other tasks as required by the IT Department.

Entry requirements:
  • 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship in a similar subject
Non‑standard entry with work experience

Relevant qualifications and/or work experience will be considered for applicants with potential to benefit from the programme.

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

If you hold international equivalents of the above qualifications, at the time of your application you must be able to provide an official document that states how your international qualifications compare to the UK qualifications.

Working hours:

Monday to Friday, 9.00am - 5.30pm, 37.5 hours
