Job description

It's the perfect platform to further your career in IT.

Joining our experienced IT team, you’ll provide remote and desktop support to over 1300 users of network, software, and hardware related services. This role offers a unique opportunity to support a diverse range of users across historic buildings and multiple sites, including Buckingham Palace.

Key responsibilities

  1. Support the wider team by resolving issues promptly and professionally, learning from colleagues.
  2. Handle a wide variety of tasks, deciding when to investigate independently or escalate issues.
  3. Initially provide service desk & deskside support, with opportunities to engage in projects like staging events, hardware/software installations, and configuring portable devices.
  4. Diagnose, log, and resolve incidents and service requests, keeping customers informed and collaborating when remote fixes aren't possible.
  5. Configure applications and systems, maintaining an asset database.

You will have opportunities to develop your skills and positively impact the organization’s daily operations. Your primary workplace will be Buckingham Palace, with regular travel within London and occasionally across the UK. Flexible home-working options are available after probation.

Support hours: 08:00 – 18:00 (Monday to Friday), 09:00-15:00 (weekends). A rota system manages early/late shifts and weekend work (1 in 8 weekends required).

Candidate requirements

  • Digitally fluent with a passion for technology, basic knowledge of computer components, and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Windows 10/11.

  • Problem-solving mindset with analytical skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Organized, proactive, with initiative and effective workload management.
  • Attention to detail for accurate record-keeping.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to build relationships both virtually and face-to-face.
  • Enthusiastic about developing a career in IT and eager to learn.
Additional job details

Location: London, Buckingham Palace, plus on-call allowance.

Contract: Full-time, with specified working times.
