Qualifications

Job description

We are seeking an IT Specialist to join our friendly, customer-focused IT and Audio-Visual department.

As an IT Specialist, you will be the face of the IT team, providing on-site technical support to Bradford College students and staff. This will include supporting and troubleshooting laptops, PCs, tablets, phones, and specialist software & hardware.

Please note that interviews for this role will take place on Thursday 10th July.

Responsibilities include:
  • Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems, and applications
  • Assist staff through face-to-face and phone support to set up systems and resolve issues
  • Troubleshoot system and basic network problems, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software faults
  • Replace parts as needed
  • Create and update user guides, procedures, and reports
  • Follow diagrams and instructions to repair faults and set up systems
  • Support testing and deployment of new applications/technologies
  • Set up and configure new user accounts
  • Respond to support calls within agreed timeframes
  • Work on tasks until completion or escalate appropriately
  • Prioritize and manage support cases
  • Maintain good relationships with staff and suppliers
  • Provide cover for the IT Service Desk as needed

Education & Training

Experience
  • Experience and knowledge of PC support, including Microsoft Office applications and desktop operating systems
  • Experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing PCs
  • Ability to explain technologies to non-technical users
