Job summary

M-Tec Engineering Solutions is seeking an IT Solutions Engineer to support, maintain, and improve business-critical systems, focusing on the QAD 2014SE ERP platform. You will collaborate with stakeholders, customers, suppliers and external partners to ensure enterprise applications and integrations run smoothly across manufacturing and supply chain.

Qualifications

• Experience with QAD ERP 2014SE platform and related modules.
• Experience with Progress OpenEdge databases and administration.
• Experience enabling ERP integration with external applications and data mapping.

Responsibilities

• Provide administration, support, maintenance, and enhancement of the QAD 2014SE ERP environment.
• Work with business users to gather requirements and deliver scalable ERP solutions.
• Support ERP modules across Manufacturing, Planning, Inventory Management, Purchasing, Sales Order Processing, Logistics, and Finance interfaces.
• Involve in system upgrades, patches, testing, and deployment activities.
• Maintain and optimise Progress OpenEdge databases with monitoring and DR activities.
• Develop and support system integrations between QAD and external applications.
• Administer Linux servers supporting QAD and related applications; monitor health, performance and security.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual business processes and participate in digital transformation initiatives.
• Produce technical documentation, support procedures and knowledge articles.
• Coordinate with IT, operations and functional teams to improve system utilisation and business performance.
• Participate in IT projects from requirements gathering through implementation and support.

A high volume manufacturer is strengthening its IT department with the appointment of an IT Solutions Engineer.

Overview

As an IT Solutions Engineer you will support, maintain, develop, and continuously improve business‑critical systems, primarily the QAD 2014SE ERP platform. You will work closely with business stakeholders, customers, suppliers and external partners to ensure enterprise applications, integrations, and infrastructure support operational excellence across manufacturing and supply chain functions.

Responsibilities

• ERP Systems Support & Development
  • Provide administration, support, maintenance, and enhancement of the QAD 2014SE ERP environment.
  • Work with business users to gather requirements and deliver scalable ERP solutions.
  • Support ERP modules, including Manufacturing, Planning, Inventory Management, Purchasing, Sales Order Processing, Logistics, and Finance interfaces.
  • Involve in system upgrades, patches, testing, and deployment activities.
• Database Administration
  • Maintain and optimise Progress OpenEdge databases.
  • Perform routine database monitoring, backup management, and disaster recovery activities.
• Integration & EDI Management
  • Support and maintain EDI transactions with customers, suppliers, and logistics partners.
  • Troubleshoot EDI communication issues and data mapping errors.
  • Develop and support system integrations between QAD and external applications.
• Linux Systems Administration
  • Administer Linux servers supporting QAD and associated applications.
  • Monitor system health, performance, security, and capacity.
• Business Solutions & Continuous Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual business processes.
  • Participate in digital transformation initiatives.
  • Produce technical documentation, support procedures, and knowledge articles.
  • Collaborate with IT, operations, and functional teams to improve system utilisation and business performance.
• Project Delivery
