Job summary

We are seeking an undergraduate to join our IT Services team at VWFS for a 12-13 month placement based in Milton Keynes. You will gain practical experience across service desk, application management and monitoring, with rotations through SAP, Web BI and PowerCurve activities.

You will provide first-line IT support, understand IT methodologies, and work with business users to translate requirements into IT solutions, while contributing to real business outcomes in a hybrid working environment.

• General IT understanding with a technical mindset
• Good customer service skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to take ownership of problems and proactively work towards resolution
• Flexible working approach, both independently and within a team
• Motivated and able to work under own initiative
• Demonstrable knowledge of IT disciplines

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line IT support to users, resolving issues quickly and escalating where needed.
• Understand and apply IT methodologies, tools and processes.
• Work with business users to understand requirements and translate them into IT solutions.
• Gain insight into application support for SAP, Web BI, local business applications and PowerCurve Collections.
• Assist in resolving application incidents and service requests.
• Monitor IT systems and applications using tools such as Splunk and AppInsights.
• Set up and maintain dashboards showing system health, performance metrics and key indicators.
• Detect anomalies, performance issues and security incidents through alerts.
• Design dashboards and reports for operational and business needs.
