Job summary

Alpine Formula One Team at Enstone is seeking an IT Service Desk Student Placement for a 1-year period starting July 2027. You will provide first-line IT support across the business, helping resolve issues and delivering excellent service in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.

You will work with experienced IT professionals on incident management, device deployment and documentation, developing practical troubleshooting and customer service skills while supporting day-to-day service desk

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Information Technology or related discipline.
• Interest in IT support, customer service and technology.
• Eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line IT support for hardware, software and IT service incidents.
• Log, categorize, prioritise and track tickets to resolution.
• Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers and apps.
• Assist with device deployment, setup and maintenance of end-user devices.
• Support user account administration and onboarding/offboarding.
• Maintain documentation of incidents, resolutions and procedures.
• Assist with asset management and meeting room tech support.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of IT services.

As an IT Service Desk Student Placement, you'll gain hands‑on experience supporting a wide range of users, technologies, and business‑critical systems. This is a unique opportunity to develop your technical and customer service skills while contributing to the success of a Formula One team.

The Role

During your placement, you will provide first‑line IT support to users across the business, helping to resolve technical issues and ensuring a high standard of customer service. Working alongside experienced IT professionals, you'll gain exposure to a broad range of technologies, systems, and support processes while developing practical troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.

You'll support the day‑to‑day operation of the Service Desk, assisting with incident management, service requests, device deployment, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the user experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first‑line support for hardware, software, and IT service‑related incidents and requests
• Log, categorise, prioritise, and track support tickets through to resolution
• Troubleshoot issues relating to desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and business applications
• Escalate complex issues to specialist IT teams where required
• Assist with the setup, deployment, configuration, and maintenance of end‑user devices
• Support user account administration, including onboarding, offboarding, and access management activities
• Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, resolutions, and IT procedures
• Assist with hardware asset management and inventory control
• Support meeting room technology and audiovisual equipment across the site
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance IT services and user satisfaction

Who We’re Looking For

• Currently studying a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computing, Cyber Security, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, and seeking an industry placement during your penultimate year of university
• Strong interest in IT support, customer service, and technology
• Basic understanding of Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, networking, and computer hardware
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting technical issues
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical users
• A customer‑focused mindset with a passion for delivering excellent service
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment
• Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn new technologies
• You must have the right to work in the UK, as we cannot provide sponsorship for this role
• You must be available to attend onsite interviews
