IT Network & Telecommunications Administrator
Salary: £36,000 - £48,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 5.30pm (40 hour week)
Location: Preston office based

Purpose of the Role
Responsible for efficiently managing technology through the use of tools and scripting. Organizes, leads, and coordinates with other parts of IT to ensure components of the overall system are managed effectively.
- Designs and develops complex, integrated solutions to meet business requirements or enhance performance of Garmin’s network and telecommunications systems.
- Performs and evaluates cost analyses and vendor comparisons for small to large-scale projects to ensure cost-effective and efficient operations. Measures feasibility of various approaches and makes recommendations.
- Continuously develops technical expertise on established and emerging network & telecommunications systems and technologies.
- Communicates effectively regarding system operations and environment changes.
- Adheres to SOX, PCI, and other regulatory requirements.
- Understands and manages capacity, redundancy, and health constraints of network & telecommunications systems.
- Ensures all security requirements are met or exceeded.
- Demonstrates proficient use and knowledge of standards and procedures.
- Communicates effectively in written and verbal form within a large team or departmental setting.
- Applies Garmin’s Mission Statement and Quality Policy and exhibits enthusiasm for Garmin's success.
- Serves as a mentor to less experienced IT Administrators.
- Provides reliable solutions to various problems using sound problem-solving techniques, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Performs and plans minor version upgrades.
- Uses tools and scripting to manage technology efficiently.
- Makes recommendations for component-level improvements.
- Identifies interdependencies in system and application components.
- Coordinates cross-team non-project changes.
- Participates in roadmap planning for systems or applications.
- Organizes and leads meetings with IT system users.
- Understands the importance of change and adapts well.
- Welcomes constructive feedback for improvement.
- Approaches situations with professionalism, especially when conflict is present.
- Monitors appropriate security access levels.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, IT, MIS, Business, or related field OR 2 years relevant experience, with a combination of education and experience.
- Ability to solve moderately complex technical problems independently.
- Experience in successful implementation of technology solutions.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Effective work documentation and organizational skills.
- Deep understanding of IT Infrastructure, including Telephony: Avaya, SIP, Microsoft Teams Voice.
